Chiefs Host Everett Saturday

October 14, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release

In what has been a fast start for the Chiefs schedule, seven games in the first 15 days of the season, Spokane will play just once in a 10 day stretch, this Saturday night at home against the Everett Silvertips. The first 3,000 fans through the gates (and all full season ticket holders in attendance) will receive a limited-edition Chiefs Calendar courtesy of Fred Meyer. Fans can follow your favorite Chiefs with this 13-month calendar.

Only two teams in the WHL have played fewer games than the Chiefs seven. Calgary and Seattle have both skated just six times.

The Chiefs and Silvertips will meet for their first of eight meetings on the year; four in each other's building. They will meet only one more time before the holiday break, Friday, December 17th. Spokane was 4-4-1-1 against the Silvertips last season with a 3-2-0-1 record at home. The Chiefs were 13-35 (37.1%) on the power play. Tyler Johnson led the Chiefs with 5-6-11. The team that scored the first goal was 8-2 in the 10 game series last year.

This week will be the last time the Chiefs will play just one game over the course of seven days. Spokane will host Calgary and Red Deer next week in the last of six straight home games.

Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK, TIcketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT or by logging onto www.ticketswest.com.
