
Chiefs Go Extras for 7-6 Victory

Peoria, IL â The Peoria Chiefs got two home runs from shortstop Aaron Sisk and a game-winning RBI single from Drew Larsen on their way to 7-6 victory in 11 innings over the Beloit Snappers in front of 3,157 Thursday night at O'Brien Field. Grant Johnson pitched five innings in his first professional start, giving up one run on three hits.
Larsen's heroics came after Eric Patterson started the bottom of the 11th with an infield single and moved to second on a wild pitch. Three batters later, Larsen lined a single to left to score Patterson from second base, beating the throw from Snappers outfielder Deacon Burns for the walk-off victory.
The Chiefs had to rally to send the game into extras, as Beloit took a 6-5 lead in the 8th inning. The Snappers scored three times in the inning without recording a hit thanks to four walks and a hit batsman by Chiefs reliever Nick Thompson. Peoria was able to answer with a single run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Alberto Garcia to score Anthony Granato, who led off the inning with a double off the center field wall.
Peoria jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings thanks to a deep home run to left field from Sisk in the 1st inning. Harvey drove in a two runs in the 3rd inning on a line drive double into the left-center field gap, scoring Patterson and Sisk.
The Chiefs bullpen combined to pitch six innings, giving up five runs on just four hits. Walt Nolen picked up the win in three innings of relief, moving his record to 5-2 on the year. Beloit reliever Alexander Smit took the loss after entering in the 11th inning, allowing the winning run with two outs. His record falls to 1-8.

Aaron Sisk (SS) â Sisk homered twice for the Chiefs, running his season home run total to six. He was 3-for-5 on the night with four runs scored and two RBI. His 7th inning home run was to the opposite field.
Notes...
