Dayton Dragons News Release
Lansing, MIâ The opening game of a four game series between the Dayton Dragons (25-33) and the Lansing Lugnuts (31-27) has been suspended due to rain in the top of the second inning. Thursday's game will be made up as part of a double header on Friday at Oldsmobile Park beginning at 5:05 PM.
The Dragons and Lugnuts got through one inning of baseball before lightning halted play at 7:21 PM Lansing time. Dayton went down in order against Lansing starter Russ Savickas in the Dragons half of the first inning. In the Lugnut first, Eric Nielsen picked up a two out single off Dragons starter Philippe Valiquette, but was stranded at first to end the frame.
Neither team has announced who will be on the mound once the suspended game resumes. In the second game of the night, Friday's regularly scheduled game, RHP Homer Bailey will throw for the Dragons and RHP Chi-Hung Cheng gets the nod for Lansing.
1410 ESPN Radio WING AM carries the game live beginning with the pre game show at 4:30 PM. The first pitch, for the start up of the suspended game from Thursday night will be at 5:05 PM. The first game will be played through nine innings and following a 20 minute break, the same game will begin and will be a seven inning game.
