Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane, Wash - The Chiefs faced the Saskatoon Blades on Wednesday night in a rare battle against the Eastern Conference foe.
Saskatoon got on the board at 4:15 in the first with the first goal of the season for Samuel Barcik. Watterodt and Saunderson recorded the assists.
The Chiefs managed 30 shots on target but could not break through the goaltending of Evan Gardner who earned first star of the night. Dawson Cowan was second star with 34 saves and just the one goal allowed. Saskatoon added an insurance goal with just four seconds left thanks to an empty netter from Lukas Hansen.
The Chiefs were 3/3 on the penalty kill and 0/3 on the power play, including a 5-on-3 chance.
Spokane will return to the arena Saturday night for Teddy Bear Toss and Sunday for Neurodiversity Awareness Night. For all ticket and promotion information, visit SpokaneChiefs.com.
