Chiefs End Successful Road Trip with 2-0 Loss in Everett
November 17, 2019 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
Everett, Wash. -- The Spokane Chiefs wrapped up a successful three-game weekend road trip on Sunday night as they fell to the Everett Silvertips 2-0.
Playing their third game in as many nights, the Chiefs' offense struggled out of the gates and failed to generate a threat through the first two frames, putting five shots on net in each. Spokane attempted to rally late, with 12 of their 22 shots in the game came in the final period, but none managed to find the back of the net.
Everett, coming off an overtime loss Saturday night, picked-up the game's first marker at 6:08 in the second. The Silvertips held the 1-0 lead until late into the final period when they added an empty-netter to secure the 2-0 victory. Box Score: SPO (0) at EVT (2)
Chiefs goaltender Campbell Arnold turned in an impressive effort, stopping 25-of-26. Calgary Flames prospect Dustin Wolf was a perfect 22-for-22 for Everett. The Chiefs ended the night 0-for-3 on the power play and the Silvertips went 1-for-2.
Notes: Spokane captain Ty Smith remained out of the lineup on Saturday night. He has missed both Chiefs games since returning from the Canada-Russia Series, where he served as captain for Team WHL.
