Chiefs Cleared to Resume Team Activities, Postponed Games Rescheduled

The Western Hockey League announced Monday the Spokane Chiefs have been cleared to resume team activities after all personnel and players on the active roster tested negative for COVID-19. The Chiefs returned to practice Monday for the first time since pausing team activities on Wednesday, November 10, following the discovery of two positive tests for COVID-19.

The WHL also announced the rescheduling of three regular season Chiefs games against the Everett Silvertips and the Victoria Royals. The team was originally scheduled to travel to Everett on Wednesday, November 10, then play back-to-back games in Victoria on Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13. The postponed games have been rescheduled as follows:

Friday, March 11 at Everett

Tuesday, January 11 at Victoria

Wednesday, January 12 at Victoria

The Chiefs will resume regular season play when they host the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday, November 19 at 7:05 p.m.

Chiefs acquire forward Carter Streek from Saskatoon Blades

The Spokane Chiefs announced on Thursday that they have acquired forward Carter Streek (2004) from the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft. Streek has suited up in 21 career games for the Blades, including six this season.

Streek, 17, was originally drafted in the fourth round (80th overall) by the Portland Winterhawks in 2019 after a 28-point (9G-19A) regular season with Yale Hockey Academy's midget prep squad.
