Chiefs Announce Roster Moves

Johnstown, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that the Syracuse Crunch have loaned forward Ryan Garlock to the team, and the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Trevor Hendrikx and right wing Petr Pohl from Syracuse to Johnstown. In addition, center Codey Burki has been reassigned by the Colorado Avalanche to Johnstown from Lake Erie, and center Mark McCutcheon and goalie Ian Keserich have been loaned by the Monsters to the Chiefs.

Garlock, 22, appeared in 51 games for Johnstown last season, piling up 26 goals, 35 assists and 61 penalty minutes. The speedy center represented the Chiefs at the ECHL All-Star Game in Stockton, CA and had an assist in the game. He also skated in 14 combined American Hockey League games with Binghamton, Hershey and Springfield, recording three assists and 10 penalty minutes.

Pohl, 22, appeared in two games with the Crunch last season. He also appeared in seven games with Dayton (ECHL) last year, registering one goal and eight assists. He also skated in 56 games for Youngstown (CHL) last season, recording 24 goals, 41 assists and 28 penalty minutes. A native of Prostejov, Czech Republic, Pohl was drafted by Columbus in the fifth round, 133rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Hendrikx, 23, appeared in 72 games for Elmira (ECHL) last season, registering eight goals, 23 assists and 170 penalty minutes. A native of Russell, Ontario, Hendrikx was drafted by Columbus in the seventh round, 201st overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Burki, 20, donned the black and gold 12 times last season and registered 3 goals, 4 assists and 14 penalty minutes. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native also skated in 4 Kelly Cup Playoff games, but did not register a point. Burki, a second-round draft pick (#59 overall) in 2006, played 40 games last season in Lake Erie where he had 2 goals, 7 assists and 22 penalty minutes.

McCutcheon, 24, was a fifth-round selection (#146 overall) by Colorado in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He then went to Cornell for four seasons where he amassed 19 goals, 25 assists and 90 penalty minutes in 117 games. In his rookie season with Lake Erie last year, the Ithaca, New York native scored 2 goals, had 7 assists, and racked up 73 penalty minutes.

Keserich, 22, is entering his second full season of professional hockey. The 6'2, 200-pound goalie was a seventh-round pick (#215 overall) by Colorado in the 2004 entry draft. Last season he compiled a record of 15-9-3 in the CHL between Colorado and Mississippi. The Parma, Ohio native was a teammate of Domenic Maiani's at Ohio State during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.
