Chicago Releases 2018 Preseason Schedule

CHICAGO - The Chicago Red Stars finalized its 2018 preseason schedule ahead of the sixth season in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The Red Stars will play five matches throughout preseason, including three during the Portland Thorns Spring Invitational at the University of Portland in Oregon.
Chicago will be tested immediately when the Red Stars head on the road for a closed match against Marquette University on Saturday, February 24. The following weekend on Sunday, March 4, the Red Stars will take on a strong Division I school in University of Wisconsin.
Between March 10-17, head coach Rory Dames and the team will head to University of Portland for the third-annual Portland Thorns Spring Invitational. While there, Chicago will once again take on host team Portland, Houston Dash and the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team.
"This preseason schedule will push our players and allow the coaching staff to evaluate our preseason roster," Dames said. "Last year the Portland tournament allowed us to take on the top teams and be prepared for the NWSL season, so we are excited to head back and play against the Thorns, Dash and U-23's."
Tickets for preseason tournament matches featuring the Thorns are general admission. Individual tickets for the three Portland preseason matches, starting at $7, go on sale to the general public starting Friday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. PT online at www.thornsfc.com.
