Chicago took a 2-0 lead late in the first period. Rookie Ty Rattie scored off a feed from Alexandre Bolduc, who was camped out behind the Iowa net. Rattie beat Curry off the feed, scoring his team-leading 22nd goal of the year for the two-goal lead. Forward Chris Porter also added an assist on the Wolves second goal of the game.
Chicago expanded its lead to 3-0 at 4:51 of the second period. Aucoin carried the puck down the left-wing wall and centered a pass to the Iowa crease. Camped out in front of the net, Adam Cracknell deflected in a rebound for his seventh goal of the year. The Wolves made it 4-0 at 11:17 of the middle frame with a power-play goal. Sebastien Wannstrom and Aucoin each had an assist on Cracknell's eighth goal of the year.
