Chicago Fire Soccer Club Signs Midfielder Brandt Bronico to New Contract

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced today that it has signed midfielder Brandt Bronico to a new contract. Bronico, 23, is under contract with the Fire through the 2020 season with Club options for 2021 and 2022.

"We're pleased that we were able to agree on an improved contract for Brandt," said Chicago Fire President and General Manager Nelson Rodrίguez. "BB (Brandt Bronico) has embraced our Club's approach on the field and in the community and it shows with his steady performances and activity in our neighborhoods. We consider him as an important member of the Club."

Since joining the Fire ahead of the 2017 MLS campaign, Bronico has made 33 regular season appearances (17 starts) for the Men in Red. After tallying four appearances in his rookie season, Bronico made a career high for games played (23) and starts (17) in his sophomore campaign in 2018, including seven straight starts from Aug. 23 to Oct. 21.

"From the day I arrived in Chicago, the Club, the staff, my teammates and the supporters have made me feel like Chicago is a place that I can call home. Originally selected by the Fire as the No. 47 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Bronico previously made 74 appearances for UNC Charlotte at the collegiate level, posting 25 goals and 23 assists. During his senior season in 2016, he was named the Conference USA Player of the Year, Offensive MVP and Golden Boot winner.
