Crestwood, IL- The Cook County Cheetahs (34-32) got a great pitching performance out of Adam Palmer (4-5) this evening as the Cheetahs beat Chillicothe, 9-1. Palmer went all nine innings, only allowing 1 run and one walk. Palmer got a lot of early support from his teammates as they scored 8 runs in the first two innings of this evening's game against the Paints (40-23). The big hitter in the game for the Cheetahs was DH Nick Johnson who went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI. Also coming up big for the Cheetahs were RF Warren Gaspar, and 1B Kevin Brown with 2 RBI each. With the win tonight the Cheetahs have now won 4 consecutive games. The starting and losing pitcher for the paints was Josh Rahrer, who falls to 6-2 on the season.
"We got a great performance out of Palmer this evening. We have been doing all the right things as of late. We just keep going out and taking it one day at a time, and hopefully we can get back into the race," said Cheetahs Manager Mike Moore.
The Cheetahs will play the Paints again tomorrow evening at 7:05 p.m. For ticket information call 708.489.2255.
