CHARLOTTE, N.C. â Charlotte Checkers' playoff tickets for the first home game of the opening round will go on sale tomorrow morning, Friday, March 15 at 10 a.m. at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Cricket Arena Box Office and charge-by-phone at 704-522-6500.
The Checkers will clinch their spot in the 2002 Kelly Cup Playoffs following their next win or the next loss by the Richmond Renegades. Charlotte is currently in second place in the Northeast Division, seven points ahead of third place Atlantic City. The Checkers will be in the ECHL playoffs for the second consecutive season and the seventh in team history.
The Checkers will meet a division rival in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The top four seeds in the Northeast Division will meet as the No.1 seed meets No. 4 and No. 3 faces-off with No.2. The first round is a best-of-five series.
