(CHICAGO, March 14, 2002) – Dan Snyder scored a shorthanded goal in the first period and Rob Brown netted the game-winner in the second frame, as the Chicago Wolves defeated the Philadelphia Phantoms at Allstate Arena, 2-1. Mark Greig tallied Philadelphia's lone goal to extend his current point streak to six games. The Phantoms fell to 2-2-0-1 on its six-game road trip and was swept by Chicago in their two-game season series.

A turnover by Tomas Divisek sprung Snyder on a breakaway, and he made a nice move before backhanding the puck behind Phantoms goaltender Maxime Ouellet at 6:41 of the opening period.

Philadelphia had to kill off two Wolves power plays at the end of the period to keep it a one-goal game, including 31 seconds of 5-on-3 time. In the second period, Vaclav Pletka had a good chance to score on the power play before Chicago increased its lead to 2-0. Pletka faked a shot and got the Wolves defender down, went around him, and sent a wrist shot to the net that was stopped by Norm Maracle. Moments later, Brown's slap shot beat Ouellet high to the glove side at 5:11.

Greig had the only goal of the game for the Phantoms 7:19 into the middle stanza. Several players were battling for the puck along the far side boards, and it squirted out to Greig in the high slot. His one-timer beat Maracle for his 21st of the year.

The Phantoms' season-high six-game road trip ends Friday in Milwaukee. Philadelphia returns home on Wednesday, March 20, to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

NOTES – Defenseman Kam White, signed to a tryout before the trip, played in his first game as a Phantom since the 1999-2000 season. ...The Wolves wore special green St. Patrick's Day jerseys, while the Phantoms were in their white sweaters. ... The Phantoms played without center Greg Koehler and defenseman Francis Lessard, who were both suspended due to their actions during Saturday's win in St. John's.
