Saint John, NB - The Saint John Flames announced today that they have signed 24-year-old defenceman Justin Harney to a 25-game Professional Tryout Agreement.
The 6'0", 195 lb native of Hopkinton, Massachusetts has been playing with the Charlotte Checkers of the East Coast Hockey League this season where he has recorded 6 goals and 36 assists for 42 points and 66 penalty minutes in 55 games. Harney has also appeared in 10 American Hockey League contests this season with Lowell recording 2 assists and 4 penalty minutes.
Harney is expected to be available for the Flames game on Friday, March 15, when Saint John visits the Lowell Lock Monsters.
The Saint John Flames are the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames and have been a member of the AHL since 1993.
