OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - What began as a bullpen day for both teams turned into a 4-hour, 14-pitcher, 12-inning battle of attrition, as the Storm Chasers eventually defeated Oklahoma City 8-5 on Sunday afternoon at Bricktown Ballpark.

Paulo Orlando opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd with a solo home run (his 5th of the year). The Chasers made it 2-0 in the top of the 3rd, as Billy Burns doubled, and Ryan O'Hearn doubled him home.

The Dodgers plated a run in the bottom of the 3rd; Mike Ahmed singled, went to 2nd on a wild pitch, and scored on a single by Jacob Scavuzzo .

Wily Peralta, making a start for the Storm Chasers, went 2.1 innings, allowing 1 run, 3 hits, and 1 walk. He struck out 4.

Oklahoma City tied the game in the 4th inning against Mike Broadway, on a double by Edwin Rios and singles by Travis Taijeron and Angelo Mora . It was 2-2.

After Kevin Lenik threw a scoreless 5th inning, the Dodgers tagged him for a run in the bottom of the 6th. Rocky Gale singled, took 2nd on a wild pitch, and scored on a single by Angelo Mora, making it 3-2 OKC.

Omaha rallied to tie it in the top of the 7th. Billy Burns and Adalberto Mondesi singled, and Frank Schwindel knocked in Burns with a sacrifice fly.

Richard Lovelady (2.1 innings) and Brandon Maurer combined to keep the game tied through the 9th inning. In the top of the 10th, the Chasers couldn't score their automatic runner from 2nd base, but Maurer kept Omaha alive by stranding OKC's runner at 2nd as well.

Parker Morin put Omaha ahead in the top of the 11th with a 2-out RBI single, scoring Paulo Orlando from 2nd. It was Morin's 3rd hit of the day.

Luiz Vasquez (W, 1-0) entered to pitch the bottom of the 11th, and set down 4 consecutive hitters...but the tying run scored on a 3rd-strike wild pitch that otherwise would have ended the game. It was 4-4.

The Chasers grabbed the lead again in the top of the 12th against Steve Broussard (L, 3-1); Adalberto Mondesi tripled home Corey Toups, and Frank Schwindel singled Mondesi in for a 6-4 advantage. After a Paulo Orlando single, Terrance Gore tripled in 2 more to make it 8-4 Omaha.

Vasquez closed out the game in the bottom of the inning; he loaded the bases with a walk and a hit batter, allowed a sacrifice fly to Rocky Gale, but retired Angelo Mora to end the game and give the Chasers a hard-fought victory.

The Storm Chasers (24-32) will be off tomorrow, and will then open a 7-game homestand on Tuesday against El Paso. RHP Glenn Sparkman (3-0, 3.13) will toss for Omaha, while El Paso will send RHP Seth Simmons (0-0, 1.50) to the mound.
