From the Notes
Playing Plunko: Last night's Honky Tonks starting pitcher Chris Bassitt hit two batters and has now plunked six on the season, which is tied with three other players for third in the PCL. Nashville's James Naile leads the league with eight followed by Tacoma's Rob Whalen who has seven. As a team Nashville is tied for sixth in the PCL with 25 hit batters. Salt Lake has the most with 35. Today's starters, Bobby Wahl (1) and Austin Bibens-Dirkx (3) have hit four batters between them.
It's Not What it Used to Be: Nashville has now lost three of its last four one-run ball games after back-to-back 6-5 defeats. Despite the recent setbacks in one-run games Nashville still has the second most one-run victories (11) in the Pacific Coast League and the fourth best winning percentage (.647).
Avoiding Going Under: With back-to-back defeats Nashville is now an even 27-27 on the season. A loss today would put the Honky Tonks below .500 for the first time since May 10 when they were 16-17.
Going Deep: Nashville as a team has homered in three straight games for just the third time this season. They homered in three straight against Colorado Springs May 8-10 at First Tennessee Park and in six straight against Memphis (3) and Oklahoma City (3) May 13-19 at AutoZone Park and Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Milestone Watch: Jorge Mateo needs one RBI to reach 200 for his career while Jake Smolinski needs to score two more runs to reach the 500 mark for his professional career.
