Ottawa Champions News Release
Ottawa, ON - Fog prevented the Champions and The New Jersey Jackals from finishing Saturday night's game so it was resumed Sunday afternoon.
Tied 3-3, the Champions loaded the bases in the seventh, then Jon Talley hit into a double play but Sebastien Boucher was able to score the eventual winning run as Ottawa edged New Jersey 4-3.
Josh Blanco pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief for his second win of the season, while Alan DeRatt came in for his sixth save in as many chances.

Game four had Joe Riley (0-0, 4.76 ERA) making his first start for the Champions
New Jersey's Justin Trapp's lead-off triple got things off to a bad start for Riley. Mark Threlkeld's RBI single was able to bring him home as the Jackals took an early 1-0 lead
Threlkeld pounded a solo home run into left field to make it 2-0 Jackals. New Jersey added an insurance run with an RBI double by Leandro Castro as the Champions fell 3-0.
"I thought he threw the ball well despite falling behind," said Champions manager Hal Lanier. "He hadn't pitched in awhile, but he gave us some innings we needed. Our bullpen is a little tired right now."
Riley ultimately took the loss, allowing six hits and six walks in five innings before newcomer Jack Fowler made his Can-am League debut. He signed with the Champions on Thursday.
Fowler threw the final three innings, allowing two hits while striking out three.
"He was excellent," said Lanier. "[Pitching coach Billy] Horn and myself liked what we saw. He had a good presence on the mound and did a very good job."
Fowler will be staying with the team as they travel to Quebec City for a series against Les Capitals.
