Centomo Named Goaltender of the Week

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma City Blazers goaltender Sebastien Centomo (sen-toe-moe) was named Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week, the Blazers office announced this afternoon.

Centomo, a 6-1, 190-pounder from Laval, Quebec won both of his starts last weekend, stopping 63 of the 66 shots he faced. That included a 36-save performance in a 2-1 shootout win over the Rocky Mountain Rage last Saturday and a 27-save performance in the Blazers 3-2 overtime win over Memphis Halloween night.

For the season, Centomo is a perfect 4-0-0, with a 2.19 goals against average and .931 saves percentage. His win total ties him for the top spot in the league, while his goals against average and saves percentage are each good for third. This marks the fourth time that Centomo has won this award.

The Blazers are off to their best start since the 2001-02 season. They take on their rival, the Wichita Thunder Friday night at the Ford Center at 7:35 p.m. Friday night, the Blazers will celebrate Veteran's Day by honoring the men and women of the Armed Forces. The Blazers will wear special camoflouge jerseys that will be available for bids in a live auction following the game. All proceeds will benefit the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
