Oilers-Colorado Preview

November 7, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

Homestand Concludes: The Tulsa Oilers wrap up their first of two four game homestands tonight against the Colorado Eagles. The Oilers have one other four game homestand (their longest of the season) March 6-13. This is the first road game of the season for Colorado.

Records: Oilers are 1-3-1 with 3 points, in fourth place in the Northeast Division. Colorado is 4-1-0 with 8 points, in third place in the Northwest Division.

Season Series: This is the first of four games between these two teams. Each team will host the other team, twice this season.

Last Outing: The Oilers had a see-saw affair with the Memphis RiverKings, losing 5-4 in overtime on Saturday night. It was the Oilers first overtime game of the season. Colorado defeated the Arizona Sundogs 4-2 Saturday night.

Don't Be Deceived: Although, listed in third place in the Northwest Division, Colorado has played fewer games than the teams in first and second place, Oklahoma City and Wichita. Colorado has the league's top winning percentage at .800.

Dandy Donnelly: Defenseman John Donnelly, hasn't been noted as a big goal scorer in his first three pro seasons. But the start to his fourth year, belies that. Donnelly has already scored two goals, a career high in his first four games with the Oilers.

Whistling A Happy Tune: Defenseman Matt Medley has been making beautiful music for the Oilers. He scored a dazzling goal with just 12.9 seconds left to force Saturday's overtime game. Medley is the only Oiler with at least one point in all five games this season.

You Look Familiar: Center David Rattray, recently acquired from Amarillo, is expected to suit up tonight for the Oilers and wear number 27. Defenseman Kevin Harris is switching to uniform number 72. Rattray played 70 games for the Oilers in 2000-01.

Next Up: The Oilers begin a six game road trip, their longest journey of the season on Friday night, when they visit the expansion Rocky Mountain Rage. That will be the first hockey game ever in the Broomfield Events Center. Game time Friday is 8:05 central time and the game can be heard on KRVT AM 1270 and via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com . The Oilers next home game is Friday November 24th against Amarillo at 7:35 p.m.
