Celebrate Independence Day Weekend With Great Independent Baseball During Saints July 6-9 Homestand

ST. PAUL, MN - Baseball is widely recognized as America's Pastime, so there is no better way to spend the country's 237th birthday weekend than watching the tradition-rich sport at Midway Stadium. The St. Paul Saints will take time to celebrate those things that Americans of all ages hold close to their heart; freedom, faith, and family. Make sure to Cupid Shuffle your way down to Energy Park Drive and spend the night doing The Loco-Motion at the ballpark between the train tracks. Just make sure not to Macarena too late into the evening or you might not arise in time for a matinee screening of Saints action.

The Saints will welcome the Kansas City T-Bones into town for a homestand that runs July 6-9 and commences on Saturday, July 6 at 7:05 p.m. After spending July 4 in Canada, the Saints will pull out all the stops for their annual Independence Day Celebration presented by Cub Foods and Snapple. Each year the Saints recognize a different military-related group and this season disabled veterans will be honored in conjunction with the Veterans Airlift Command. Jack Zimmerman, a Cleveland, MN native and disabled military veteran, will throw out the first pitch and give a short speech prior to the game. The celebration continues after the final out with a post-game fireworks super show that is sure to be a blast. Also, the opportunity is there to leave the ballpark with heavier pockets as it is a St. Croix Casino Big Money $aturday where fans have a chance to win up to $77,777.

Saint Paul himself undertook many evangelical missions during his lifetime and were he around today he would most likely find his way to the city with the same name on Sunday, July 7 at 1:05 p.m. for Faith and Family Day. Bring the whole family down to the ballpark and take part in pre-game Bible trivia and enjoy other faith-based activities throughout the day. Make sure to stick around following the game for the post-game concert by The Fairlead. The band consists of four University of Northwestern State students who have performed at the Joyful Noise Festival as well as opened for such Christian artists as All Sons and Daughters, Gungor, and Switchfoot. Don't worry, the usual Savers Family Sunday post-game festivities will also take place as kids can run the bases and receive autographs from the entire team after the game.

We guarantee you won't become Bored to Death on Monday, July 8 at 7:05 p.m. as the Saints celebrate former Footloose star Kevin Bacon's 54th birthday with a celebration of dead dances. Crazy, Stupid, Love. Those might be some of the feelings Saints fans have for the dances that are sure to be seen taking place around the park. Bring your best moves with you and prepare to bust out the Electric Slide, the Tootsie Roll, and the Funky Chicken between innings. There is also reason to be excited about The Following, it is a K102 Buck Beer Night with $1 beers all night long.

The homestand reaches its conclusion on Tuesday, July 9 with a 1:05 p.m. Midway Matinee. Bring your popcorn and enjoy snacks throughout the showing as the final chapter of the Kansas City series is unveiled on the big screen. There will be great food available in the parking lot as well prior to the game as food trucks from Gastrotruck and Simply Steve's will be in attendance on Food Truck Tuesday.

The Saints hope that you choose to spend this holiday weekend with us and to entice you to do just that the homestand is packed with celebrations of all kinds. Come and celebrate the men and women who have fought to make our great country the special place it is today. Bring the kids and enjoy a day celebrating the importance of both faith and family. Help celebrate the birthday of actor Kevin Bacon by enjoying some dances you probably thought you would never see again. Even better, celebrate a day off of work with a Saints afternoon game. All of this part of a fun-filled four game homestand as the Saints near the halfway mark of the season and look to make some noise in July.

Tickets for all Saints regular season home games are available in person at the Saints Box Office, by phone at 651-644-6659 or online at saintsbaseball.com. Tickets for Saints regular season home games are $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket. Tickets to the July 6 and September 1 Fireworks Super Show are an additional $3. Children under the age of 14 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.
