
Cats' Offense Comes Back to Life in 8-1 Win

Fort Worth Cats' starting pitcher Aaron Wilkerson stifled the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings on Saturday night with an 8-1 win at LaGrave Field.
The Cats (34-22) jumped all over WhiteWings' ace Brett Kennedy, who led the league in ERA prior to the game, with four runs on four hits including a two-run home run by David Bergin in the first inning.
Throwing in his last game with the Cats, Wilkerson through seven innings giving up one run on four hits and striking out seven.
Cats' third baseman Mark Sobolewski went 4-for-5 with two RBI and finished a home run short of the cycle.
Bergin and designated hitter Daniel Meeley both had two hits and drove in three runs.
Left fielder Aljay Davis finished the game 3-for-4 with a walk and four runs-scored.
With the win, the Cats split the series with the WhiteWings (28-26) and look forward to a three-game series against the San Angelo Colts (27-26) beginning with a doubleheader on Sunday at 6:05 p.m.
