
Cats Lose Shootout Thriller to Islanders

The Wildcats enjoyed leads of 4-1 and 5-2 Friday night but the Charlottetown Islanders refused to quit, rallying to force overtime and winning in a shootout 6-5 before 4,200 fans at the Avenir Centre in Friday night's action.
The game's First Star Vincent Collard snapped a hat-trick for the Cats, all assisted by Preston Lounsbury. Collard now has 11 goals on the season. Other Moncton tallies to Connor Trenholm (5th) and Thomas Auger (4th).
The Islanders managed 48 shots at Keegan Warren while the Cats countered with 27 at both Aksels Ozols and Carter Bickle.
The Cats record moves to 13-4-1-1 after 19 games.
Moncton hosts the Shawinigan Cataractes on 'Sunday Funday' at the Avenir Centre at 4 pm Sunday.
