Moncton Wildcats News Release
Kabanov in town:
Kirill Kabanov, the Wildcats 7th overall pick in this year's European draft, arrived in Moncton last night. The 6 foot 3 inch, 178 pound native of Moscow, Russia is here to visit the area as part of the process of possibly joining the team. His status with regard to playing with the Wildcats this season has not been confirmed since he has not obtained a transfer card from the Russian IHF.
The IIHF may have to rule on the situation after written submissions are presented. According to Danny Flynn, the Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the Wildcats, this process could take at least two weeks. Kabanov played for Moscow Spartak last season and was a member of the Russian under-18 national team.
Special event for Season Ticket holders on Sept. 9th:
There's going to be a special event for Season Ticket and Flex Pack holders at the Coliseum on September 9th. In addition to picking up their season tickets in the lobby next to the Wildcats office, starting at noon, they'll be treated to a special reception from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Everyone will be able to enjoy 99 cent concessions, have an opportunity to meet the team and be the first to get a look at the new Wildcats jerseys. There'll be an opportunity to get autographs and mingle with the highly rated 2009-2010 Wildcats squad.
McDonald's 7th Player could be your child:
It's back again this year, the chance to be the 7th player with the Wildcats. Without doubt the thrill of a lifetime for 6-10 year olds. Local McDonald's Restaurants are returning as sponsor of one of our most sought after promotions. This year, a new 7th Player will be introduced every Friday, Saturday and Sunday home game with the exception of the home opener on Friday, September 18th. 22 young hockey fans will skate out with the team's starting line-up and join them for the National Anthem. Once they are escorted off the ice, McDonald's has 4 seats designated for the 7th Player and their family to enjoy the rest of the game. That's not all, not only does the 7th Player get to KEEP the Wildcats jersey they wore on the ice, but the also get a hockey stick autographed by the entire Moncton Wildcats hockey team!
