
Sock & Spear Released from Sea Dogs Training Camp Roster

SAINT JOHN, NB --- Saint John Sea Dogs Director of Hockey Operations Mike Kelly announced today that defenseman Tyrone Sock and goaltender Nick Spear have been released from the team's training camp roster effective immediately.
Spear, 18, was selected by Saint John in the eighth round of the 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft. The 5'10", 151 lb. goaltender will now report to his MJAHL team, the Cambellton Tigers, with whom he spent the 2008-09 season with.
The Sea Dogs selected Sock, 16, in the fourth round of this year's entry draft. The 6'0", 180 lb. blue-liner is also Cambellton's property, having been chosen by the Tigers with the first overall pick in this year's MJAHL Territorial Draft.
Twenty-five active players now remain at '09 Sea Dogs Training Camp. Saint John's 2009-10 roster will be announced on Monday.
Saint John will kick of the fifth season in franchise history on Friday, September 11 when they travel to Bathurst to battle the Titan at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre. The Sea Dogs' home opener is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 19 at 7pm versus the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
