
Cats Clinch Third With Wild 7-5 Win Over Titan

The Wildcats secured third place in the Eastern Conference and home ice advantage against the Chicoutimi Saguenéens with a wild 7-5 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan 7-5 a huge Avenir Centre crowd of 7,700 fans on 'Fan Appreciation Day.'
With several Wildcats sidelined with injuries, Nova Scotia rookie Jack Hayne made quite an impression with his first two QMJHL goals. Caleb Desnoyers (19th) and Miles Müller (32nd) had goals, along with two assists, Preston Lounsbury also scored a pair (18th, 19th) and Thomas Auger netted his 18th on the final day of the regular season.
In a pregame ceremony, the Wildcats honoured the three 20-year-olds, Connor Trenholm, Oscar Plandowski & Olivier Boutin, recognizing their contributions to the Wildcats franchise.
The first round of the QMJHL playoffs open at the Avenir Centre Friday night. Game 2 follows on Saturday evening.
