
Cats can't hold on to late lead

Grand Prairie scored four times in the eighth inning as they rallied to defeat the Cats 8-4 on Tuesday night at LaGrave Field.
The loss snapped the first-half champion Cats' five-game winning streak and dropped the Fort Worth record to 28-16 on the year.
Aaron Sisk belted his first home run of the season in the second inning to give Fort Worth an early 1-0 lead. But Grand Prairie got a sacrifice fly by Billy Munoz in the third to knot the game 1-1 and then took the lead in the fourth as JB Tucker scored on an error by Sisk.
Fort Worth scored twice in the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead on a throwing error by Munoz and a sacrifice fly by Charles Carter. The AirHogs rallied in the seventh to tie the game on a throwing error by left-fielder Ed Montague.
In the bottom fo the seventh, the Cats again went ahead on a two-out RBI single by Brian Fryer. But the AirHogs rallied again as the first five batters reached on singles against reliever Tim Haines. Pinch hitter Brandon Carter's two-run single made it 5-4 Grand Prairie and the AirHogs added two more in the inning for a 7-4 lead.
Tucker's solo homer in the ninth gave the AirHogs an 8-4 lead and was his fifth hit of the game, as he went 5-for-5 with a homer, a double and three runs scored.
Haines (3-2) took the loss as he permitted four runs on five hits, retiring only one batter in the eighth inning. Geivy Garcia (1-0) notched the win for Grand Prairie with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Joel Kirsten allowed three runs, two earned on eighth hits in seven strong innings, but received no decision.
There were a combined seven errors in the game, including four committed by the Cats.
The series concludes on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Pedro Flores (6-0) will be on the mound for the Cats and Kieran Mattison will go for Grand Prairie
