Columbus Catfish News Release
Columbus, GA - Catfish reliever RHP John Meloan has been placed on the disabled list with a right foot infection. In his only outing this season Meloan pitched two scoreless innings and struck out five on May 11 against the Savannah Sand Gnats.
To fill out the roster the Catfish have added RHP Dave Horlacher from extended spring training. Horlacher, originally from St. George, UT, attended Brigham Young University. In 2005 he posted a 1.69 ERA with 25 strikeouts while pitching 16 innings with the rookie-level Ogden Raptors. The Dodgers selected Horlacher in the eighth round of the 2005 First-Year Player Draft.
Horlacher will join the Catfish bullpen when they take on the Rome Braves tonight at 7:00pm at Golden Park. The fourth and final game of the series will wrap up an eight-game home stand before the Catfish go to Savannah for four games against the Sand Gnats.
