San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, TX - After straining his left calf muscle for the second time this season, the San Angelo Colts have announced that catcher Trey Carter will be out for the rest of the season and have placed him on the inactive list. In his stead, the Colts have activated relief pitcher Caleb Rodgers.

Carter was having an outstanding rookie season for the Colts batting .317 with five homers and 23 RBI. He missed 20 games earlier in the year after sustaining the same injury on June 27 against Edinburg. He reinjured the muscle in Friday night's loss at Amarillo.

Rodgers returns to the Colts roster after going on the inactive list June 5. He has appeared in two games with San Angelo this season, both as a starter. He will pitch out of the bullpen in his return.

He is 1-1 this season with an 11.89 ERA. In 8.1 innings, the San Angelo native has allowed 11 earned runs on 20 hits while striking out six. Last season, he appeared in seven games as a reliever for the Colts compiling a 0-0 record with a 1.50 ERA. He allowed no runs in five of those outings.

The Colts take on the Edinburg Roadrunners in game two of their four-game series tonight with first-pitch set for 7:05. Brian Henschel (5-7, 6.11 ERA) will go for the Colts against Mark DiBernardo (6-5, 5.62 ERA) of the Roadrunners. Tonight is also Margarita Monday presented by MDX 106.1 FM as margaritas will be on sale for only $2 throughout the evening. The broadcast of the game can be heard on 1260 KKSA with the Kemps Pregame Show getting things underway at 6:50.
