
Carolina drops pair to BayBears

Zebulon, NC --- The Mobile BayBears swept a doubleheader from the Carolina Mudcats for the second time this season, taking a pair 7-2 and 5-1 at Five County Stadium on Monday night.
Clay Hensley (W, 1-4) earned the win in the opener with six strong innings, allowing one run. Hensely entered the start with an ERA of 9.72.
Carolina (12-13) committed six errors in the opener, inlcuding four in the third inning alone.
Ronald Belizario (L, 0-3, 4+IP, 6H, 7R, 4ER, 2W, 5K) suffered his third loss in five starts.
In the nightcap, Peter Bauer (L, 2-1, 5IP, 6H, 5R, 3ER, 1W, 6K) was defeated for the first time, allowing five runs in the first inning as the BayBears won 5-2.
Pat Magness (1-3, RBI) drove in a second inning run, while Jason Stokes (HR, 7) hit a solo homer in the fourth. In the fifth, Stokes would bat with the bases loaded against Chris Rojas (W, 2-1), but drilled a liner to short to end the inning.
Carolina sends Trevor Hutchinson to the mound in the series finale Tuesday night at 7:15 PM ET. Hutchinson is 4-1 with an ERA of 3.86.
