Cards Rally with Cow, but Not Enough to Win

This evening at Skylands Park in Augusta, New Jersey, the New Jersey Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) lost to the Aberdeen Ironbirds (Baltimore Orioles) 12-4. New Jersey goes down to 27-39 as the Ironbirds ascend to 35-34. Jason John (1-3) picked up the loss for the Cardinals as

Christopher Ray (2-0) gets the win for the Ironbirds. Mike Patitucci gets his 6th save of the season. Catcher/Infielder Billy Schmitt pitched 2 scoreless innings.

The Cardinals scored 2 runs in the 5th and 2 runs in the rally cow 6th inning. Kainoya Obrey was hit by a pitch with one out and then Brendan Ryan hit a long triple to score Obrey. With two outs Kevin Estrada had an RBI single to knock in Ryan. In the rally cow inning Jose Virgil led off with a massive triple. Casey Grimm followed with a n RBI single. Then with two outs Orey hit a double to score Grimm.

Casey Grimm was 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Brendan Ryan went 2-4 with a RBI triple and 1 run scored for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals play Aberdeen tomorrow as they continue their 5 game homestand. It is going to be back to school notebook giveaway night sponserd by Sylvan Learning Center.
