DANVILLE, VA - After an extra innings win, and a shutout in game two, the Cardinals looked for their first series sweep of the season. The Braves scored three late runs to win the finale 4-2.

Kyle Leahy started the game for the Cardinals, his fourth start of the season. Leahy had another solid start, going five innings, giving up three hits, one earned run and notching four strikeouts.

The Braves started the scoring in the bottom of the first with one run. Johnson City was shut out until the top of the sixth when Brandon Riley launched his first homerun of the season, a two-run homerun to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.

Danville answered in the bottom of the seventh with three runs to take a 4-2 lead and that is where the scoring would end.

The Cardinals used three pitchers after Kyle Leahy. Michael Brettell was first out of the bullpen. Brettell notched his first hold of the season. He threw one perfect inning, striking out one. David Oca , the second pitcher used, blew his third save of the season and took his third loss. Oca pitched one inning allowing two hits, three runs (one earned), and tallied one strikeout. Jacob Sylvester was the final pitcher used for Johnson City. Sylvester threw one inning, only allowing two hits.

Johnson City starts their six-game roadtrip with a 2-1 record. They take on the Pulaski Yankees for three games and then return home to take on the Danville Braves for a Friday-Sunday weekend series.
