Kingsport Axmen News Release

The Kingsport Mets are back home Tuesday evening as they open up a three game series against the Danville Braves.

The Braves enter play Monday at 15-16, and sitting in third place in the Appalachian League West.

The Braves have relatively struggled to score runs in the high-scoring Appalachian League, ranking ninth in a ten-team league in runs scored.

However, their pitching has arguably been the best of any Appalachian League team.

The Braves' staff enters Monday with a team ERA of 3.20, which is the best in the league. As a staff they have only allowed 13 home runs, fewest in the league, so the Mets' bats will have a challenge in front of them.

To combat this pitching staff will be the high-powered Kingsport offense, who has seen a recent surge by Gavin Garay, who has 13 hits and four homers in his last seven games.

The Mets also have three of the top nine batting average leaders in the league in Raul Beracierta, Luis Santana, and Guillermo Granadillo.

Come for the baseball, or come for the promotions, but you won't want to miss a minute of the action this week at Hunter Wright Stadium.

Tuesday night is another in our "$2 Tuesdays" series. Fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs, sodas, and beer.

Wednesday is TimesNews Night. The Mets are excited to welcome guests of the TimesNews.

Thursday is another in our "Dollar Thursdays" series. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs, sodas, and beer.

All games have a 6:30 first pitch with gates opening at 5:30.
