Caps Look for Cheese Cup Series Win & Bounce Back Performance

Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols (12-16-2-2) will look to shake off the bitter memory of a 3-2 overtime defeat on Friday against Chicago as they welcome the Green Bay Gamblers (19-11-2-1) to the Alliant Energy Center on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop.
Capitols fans can receive a $5 second concourse to tonight's game by wearing a green and gold Green Bay football jersey. Meanwhile, on the ice, the Capitols have a chance to get the better of their Green Bay rivals for a fifth time this season. Should they do so, they would capture the Wisconsin Cheese Cup title for a second straight season.
The Capitols have won each of the last two meetings with Green Bay, each of which came at the Resch Center. The Capitols took home a 4-3 overtime win on Dec. 19 on Tommy Muck's overtime game-winner before Daniel Lebedeff won his first USHL goaltending start on Dec. 31 in a 6-3 Capitol triumph.
Green Bay will receive a major reinforcement, though, as goaltender Adam Huska has returned from Europe, where he competed for Slovakia in the World Junior Championships. The New York Rangers' prospect has been the USHL's top goaltender this season, posting league-high numbers in save percentage (.942) and goals-against average (1.65). He is 2-1-0 against the Capitols this season.
The Capitols appeared to have their second win of the homestand on Friday, as Tyson McLellan and Sam McCormick tallied third-period goals to put the Capitols ahead 2-1. Chicago, though, had other ideas, as Jack Gessert picked up his second goal of the evening with just 32 seconds left in regulation to tie the game, and Tanner Laczynski won it in overtime for the Steel.
The Capitols will continue their seven-game homestand by completing this weekend's three-game set against Cedar Rapids on Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
The Capitols will welcome members of the 501st Legion for D.C. Eagle's Star Wars Birthday Bash. Family Four Packs are also available for Sunday's tilt, with $48 packages that include four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and four bags of chips.
