Caps Fall in Weekend Opener with Green Bay, Reset for Dubuque Tomorrow
December 17, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
The Madison Capitols drop tonight's early weekend opener 6-4 to the Green Bay Gamblers after their late comeback bid falls just short.
With 12:09 left in regulation, the Gamblers scored on the power play to take a 5-1 lead over the Capitols. The Capitols turned around and scored three times in a span of 4:55 to pull within one of the Gamblers and make it 4-5. Forwards Casey Severo (two) and Jack Musa (one) were the third period goal scorers for the Capitols. With 1:24 remaining in regulation and the Caps netminder pulled, Green Bay would add the empty net insurance goal and that is where things would remain for the evening.
The Capitols are right back to work tomorrow as they hit the road to meet the Dubuque Fighting Saints for the first time this season. Puck drop slated for 7:05 p.m.
