Capitals Recall Cameron Schilling from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Cameron Schilling from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

Schilling, 26, has appeared in two NHL games with the Capitals. The Carmel, Ind., made his NHL debut on March 12, 2013, against Carolina and skated in one game with Washington last season. Schilling recorded 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) and 33 penalty minutes in 40 games with Hershey (AHL) this season and has earned 44 points (12 goals, 32 assists) and 197 penalty minutes in 187 career AHL games. Schilling signed with Washington as a free agent on March 27, 2012.

Schilling played in 144 collegiate games during his four-year career with Miami University, collecting 57 points (eight goals, 49 assists) and 155 penalty minutes. The 6'2", 202-pound defenseman was a member of two NCAA All-Regional Teams (2008, 2010) and helped Miami win the 2010-11 CCHA Championship.
