
Petr Straka Recalled by Flyers

Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have recalled from loan forward Petr Straka from Lehigh Valley. He will be available for Philadelphia's game this evening against the Arizona Coyotes and will wear #51.
A 22-year-old winger from Plzen, Czech Republic, Straka is currently third among all Phantoms with 11 goals and has produced 17 total points in 39 games this season. In the midst of a three-game goal-scoring streak, the 6'0", 195-pound forward is second among all Lehigh Valley skaters in even strength goals and sixth in total scoring.
In the midst of his second professional season, Straka spent last year with the Adirondack Phantoms where he compiled nine goals, 18 assists and 27 points. Before kick starting his professional career, he spent four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2009 to 2013 where he amassed 97 goals, 111 assists and 208 points in 212 games between Rimouski Oceanic and Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Straka was originally a second-round selection (55th overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
The Phantoms return to PPL Center for a pair of games later this week. First, Lehigh Valley welcomes the Albany Devils to town for the final time this season on Thursday, January 29th. Then, the Phantoms welcome the rival Hershey Bears back to downtown Allentown on Friday, January 30th. Friday's game features a free youth jersey giveaway for the first 3,000 kids in attendance (ages 14 and under) and is also meLVin's Birthday Bash as everyone's favorite puck-nosed pladottle will celebrate with some of his craziest mascot friends.
