
Capitales Capitalize in 4-1 Win Over Cutters

New Haven County Cutters News Release
(West Haven, CT) The New Haven County Cutters had the error bug haunt them in a 4-1 loss to the Quebec Capitales in front of 2,066 fans at Yale Field.
For the second straight game the Capitales struck first with two-runs in the first inning. Both runs scored on a 2-out error by Ryan Kane on a Juan Melo ground ball.
The Cutters scored one run in the sixth inning on a two-out RBI single by reigning "Batter of the Week" Kevin Forbes. Forbes has either scored or driven in all four of New Haven's runs in this series.
Newly acquired Buddy Bengel went one inning with a walk and a strikeout.
One of the Capitales four runs was earned with Quebec taking advantage of two Cutter errors. Both teams combined to score four of the five runs with two outs.
Monday, August 2, 2004 will serve as Bobblection Night, sending baseball fans to the polls in seven different ballparks. From New Haven to Minnesota, South Dakota to Florida, the event will be an early indicator in this Presidential election year.
The Charleston (SC) RiverDogs, Fort Myers (FL) Miracle, Hudson Valley (NY) Renegades, St. Paul (MN) Saints, Brockton (MA) Rox, and Sioux Falls (SD) Canaries have teamed up to provide the country with a unique campaign event. The New Haven (CT) County Cutters, who play in the home ballpark of Yale University, the alma mater of both Presidential candidates, have agreed to participate as well.
"Win Jonathan Fleisig's Money" is during every Saturday Game at Yale Field where fans can actually win money from the owner of the Cutters for watching and enjoying a night at the ballpark. It will also be "Maria Conlon Night" with the former UCONN Huskies guard and Derby, CT, native will be in attendance signing autographs. Every Sunday is a WEBE 108 Family FUNday with plenty of entertainment to keep all ages entertained.
