Canucks Recall Mike Zalewski from the Comets

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has recalled forward Mike Zalewski from the AHL Utica Comets.

Zalewski, 24, has appeared in five games with Utica this season where he has registered an assist (0-1-1) along with eight penalty minutes. In 2015.16, the 6-2, 195-pound forward appeared in 58 games for Utica where he ranked tied for fifth in points (33) and tied for third in goals (16). Zalewski also skated in three games for Vancouver, collecting an assist (0-1-1) along with two penalty minutes.

Prior to making his professional debut in 2014, Zalewski spent two seasons with the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Engineers. In 71 career NCAA games, Zalewski compiled 47 points (21-26-47) and 75 penalty minutes.

The New Hartford, New York, native was originally signed by Vancouver as a free agent on March 14, 2014.
