Canucks Recall Michael Grabner

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have recalled forward Michael Grabner.

Grabner, 22, made his NHL debut earlier this season on Oct. 16/09 at Calgary where he recorded an assist - his first NHL point. He subsequently played in nine games with the Canucks, recording five points (2g & 3a) and six penalty minutes before suffering a lower body injury on Nov. 1/09. The Villach, Austria native scored his first career NHL goal on Oct. 21/09 at Chicago.

Grabner has also appeared in 38 games so far this year with the Moose where he's scored 26 points (15g & 11a). He recently snapped a seven-game goal-less drought with a goal March 13/10 vs. Rockford. Over the span of his three-year career, Grabner has played in 180 Moose games were he has amassed 120 points (68g & 52a) and 34 penalty minutes.

He was originally drafted in the first round, 14th overall, by Vancouver in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
