Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Milwaukee, WI- The Milwaukee Admirals suffered a tough loss Tuesday night, dropping a 4-3 decision to the Chicago Wolves at the Braldye Center. Two goals allowed with less than fifteen seconds in the first and third period would hand the Ads one of their most difficult losses of the season.
Andreas Thuresson ripped a one-timer into the back of the net just 4:05 into the first period to give the Admirals a 1-0 advantage. Thuresson, along with linemates Hugh Jessiman and Marty Murray, had multiple scoring opportunities cycling the puck deep in the offensive zone; Thuresson found some space and slapped a one timer past Wolves goaltender Peter Mannino. Murray, who made the pass from the boards to Thuresson in slot, received an assist along with Jessiman.
At 15:05 of the first period Murray would be the next to strike for the Ads knocking home a Jessiman rebound to give the Ads a 2-0 lead. With the Ads on the power play, Jessmian brought the puck through the offensive zone, barreled to the net and shot the puck. The rebound snuck away from Mannino for the opportunistic Murray to jam it home. Jessiman would receive his second assist of the opening period along with Jonathon Blum.
With just eleven seconds remaining in the first stanza the Wolves Tim Stapleton wound-up and slapped the puck past Milwaukee net minder Mark Dekanich to close the lead to 2-1. The Wolves power play goal was assisted by Jason Krog and Johnny Pohl.
Milwaukee appeared to have the momentum entering the third, outshooting Chicago 13-5 in the second.
It all changed when a harmless rush by the Wolves, led to Kevin Doell tying the game at two with 14:34 remaining in the third period. Doell didn't have numbers on the rush but got off a shot that made its way past Dekanich. The goal was assisted by Andrew Kozek and Arturs Kulda.
With the Ads on their heels the Wolves Rylan Kaip would score again at 15:47 of the third. Stapleton and Patrick Galivan both assisted on the goal.
Less than a minute later Chris Mueller broke into the slot and fired the puck past Mannino tying the game at four with 3:19 remaining in regulation. Mueller received the pass from Mike Santorelli, who along with Robert Dietrich, was credited with an assist on the goal.
The Wolves and Johnny Pohl deflated the Ads momentum by scoring with fifteen seconds remaining inregulation. Pohl was able to tip the puck top shelve past Dekanich after Joey Crabb sent the puck to the front of the net on a three on three rush.
