Canucks Reassign Centre Alex Friesen to Comets

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has reassigned centre Alex Friesen to the AHL Utica Comets.

Friesen, 25, appeared in his first NHL game on February 15, 2016 versus the Minnesota Wild. The 5'10", 185 pound forward has collected 18 points (8-10-18) and 55 penalty minutes in 41 games in his third year with the Comets this season.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario native was selected in the sixth round, 172nd overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks.
