Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

The Wolf Pack (27-24-2-0, 56 pts., .528 pts. percentage) took two of their three games this past week, to move to within five points of an Eastern Conference playoff spot. On Wednesday night at the XL Center the Wolf Pack handed the Providence Bruins a 3-2 defeat, the P-Bruins' first regulation loss in 17 games. Luke Adam scored the third-period game-winner in that one and Travis Oleksuk and Jayson Megna had two assists apiece. The Pack then broke out for a season-high seven goals on Saturday night in Springfield, led by two goals and an assist apiece from Raphael Diaz and Nicklas Jensen, in a 7-2 victory over the Falcons. A three-game Hartford win streak came to an end, though, on Sunday at home, as the Binghamton Senators defeated the Pack by a score of 6-2.

This week:

The Wolf Pack enjoy another pair of home games this week, with a trip to Allentown in between. The Portland Pirates visit the Wolf Pack at the XL Center on "Winning Wednesday" for a 7:00 PM game, and then the Wolf Pack head to the Keystone State to battle the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday evening (7:00). After a rare Saturday off, the Wolf Pack will have a rematch with the Phantoms Sunday at the XL Center at 5:00.

Wednesday, February 24 vs. the Portland Pirates (Florida) at the XL Center, 7:00 PM

- Every Wednesday-night Wolf Pack home game in 2015-16 is a "Winning Wednesday". If the Wolf Pack win, fans can show their Winning Wednesday ticket at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center and receive a free ticket to the next Wolf Pack home game, which is this Sunday, February 28 vs. Lehigh Valley (some restrictions apply).

- The Wolf Pack have won three straight in the season series vs. the Pirates, by a combined margin of 14-3, after Portland took the first two meetings. The Pack are 2-0-0-0 thus far at home on the year against Portland.

- This is the last of seven straight road games for the Pirates (29-20-2-0, 60 pts., .588), who are 3-2-1-0 thus far in the stretch. Portland went 0-2-1-0 in its three games this past week, and is four points ahead of the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division playoff race.

- Defenseman Brent Regner, the Pirates' veteran captain, scored Portland's only goal in the Pirates' 3-1 loss at Toronto Saturday afternoon, in his second game back from his first career NHL recall stint.

- Tickets for this and all remaining 2015-16 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499. - The Phantoms come into the week exactly at .500, 25-25-2-2 for 54 points, and two points behind the Wolf Pack in the Atlantic Division. Lehigh Valley went 2-0-0-1 in three games this past weekend, after losing four of its previous five.
