Canucks prospect Coulombe returns to Victoria

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that rookie Defenseman Patrick Coulombe has been assigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings by the Manitoba Moose.

Coulombe, 21, has appeared in 44 games this season with the Moose and tallied nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 163-pound native of St. Fabien, PQ also spent time in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Vancouver Canucks this season. In seven games he posted an assist and four penalty minutes. He was signed to an NHL contract as an undrafted free agent by the Canucks on October 31, 2006.

This will be his second visit to the capital city, having been assigned to the Salmon Kings on March 6 during their road trip in Stockton. He played three games for Victoria and was recalled to Manitoba on March 13.

Coulombe joins the Salmon Kings as they face Phoenix in the final series of the regular season. The series starts tomorrow (April 4) and continues Friday and Saturday. All three games begin at 7:05 p.m. at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
