Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today that second year defenseman Sam Cannata has been named team captain. The Havoc had been without a captain since Mike MacDonald was released in December.
"We are excited to name Sam captain for the remainder of the season," Detulleo said. "He exemplifies the qualities of a leader on and off the ice and has earned the respect of his teammates."
Cannata has played in every game over the past two seasons and scored two goals and added 12 assists. He has two goals and five assists this season.
"I am honored to be selected as captain for this great team and this great organization," Cannata said. "There are so many strong leaders in our locker room which makes it each to lead as we come together as a team."
The Havoc will hit the road on Friday to Biloxi to take on the Surge and to Columbus on Saturday to battle the Cottonmouths. They return to Breland Homes Ice on Sunday at 4:00 against the Surge.
