'Canes Assign Drayson Bowman to Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forward Drayson Bowman to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Bowman, 23, has scored six goals and earned seven assists (13 points) in 37 games with the Hurricanes this season. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, but raised in Littleton, CO, Bowman has totaled 11 goals and 11 assists (22 points) in 35 AHL games with Charlotte in 2011-12. Carolina's third-round draft pick (72nd overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bowman (6'1", 190 lbs.) has tallied eight goals, eight assists (16 points) and 20 penalty minutes in 69 career NHL games with the Hurricanes.
