HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs, in collaboration with StopConcussions.com, announced today plans to hold a joint "Blowing the Whistle on Concussions" seminar prior to the Sunday, April 15th, 2012 home game against the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The "Blowing the Whistle on Concussions" seminar will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the concourse level of Copps Coliseum. Panelists for the 30-minute presentation include Dr. David Robinson, who is the Hamilton Bulldogs' team physician and McMaster University Sports Medicine physician with years of experience dealing with concussion, former hockey player and StopConcussions.com co-founder Kerry (Gouche) Goulet, 2006 Paralympic Gold medalist sledge hockey player Paul Rosen, osteopath Scott Haller, and a Hamilton Bulldogs player who will be able to share his personal experience dealing with concussions. The presentation will conclude with a 15-minute Q&A session, followed by a 15-minute one-on-one reception with the panelists.

Tickets for the event are available through Hamilton Bulldogs Account Executive Andrew Staios (905.546.8182 or Andrew.Staios@hamiltonbulldogs.com). For $20 dollars, fans can purchase a ticket package that includes the "Blowing the Whistle on Concussions" seminar and one ticket to the Bulldogs vs. Griffins game at 3 p.m. Fans who have already purchased game tickets can attend the seminar by making a $5 advance donation to the Bulldogs Foundation.

The Bulldogs hope that this seminar and partnership will help raise awareness and provide information about concussions at the grassroots levels of sports in Southern Ontario. StopConcussions.com is a concussion/neurotrauma educational and awareness hub for all sports, and aims to address the growing trend of concussions in sports and daily life. Trainers, athletes, parents, coaches, and officials can seek information regarding concussions, with the goal of becoming more aware and ultimately becoming safer individuals in their respective sports and everyday life. StopConcussions.com offers sport-specific programs to help change the mindset of the sport, not the feel of the game.

The Bulldogs return home to Copps Coliseum to take on the Rochester Americans at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 7th, 2012. Single game tickets for the 2011-2012 season are available at the Copps Coliseum Box Office, any Ticketmaster Outlet, online at ticketmaster.ca or through charge-by-phone at 1-855-872-5000.
