St. Paul, MN - The Sioux Falls Canaries (0-1) opened the second half with a 8-2 loss to the St. Paul Saints (1-0) on Tuesday night at Midway Stadium.

The Canaries fell behind as the Saints scored one run in each of the first four innings. In the first inning, Josh Womack singled and got to second on a fielding error by Ryan Grant before scoring on a single by Pichi Balet. Then in the second, the Saints added a run when Grant's second fielding error of the game allowed Ryan Priddy to score for a 2-0 lead. Kevin Sullivan homered to lead off the third for a three-run Saints advantage. In the fourth inning, Tony Mansolino doubled to score Womack, and the Saints jumped out to a 4-0 lead through four innings.
