Quebec starter Michel Simard threw a complete game shutout as the Capitales defeated Sussex 2-0. Simard allowed four hits, struck out nine and walked just one. He's now 12-2 on the year. An RBI double in the third inning by CF Goef Tomlinson and an RBI single by 2B Jean-Michel Salvas in the seventh inning accounted for the only runs of the game. Matt Salvato was the hard luck loser for Sussex as he went 6 2/3 innings and allowed five hits and two runs to drop to 9-4. With the victory, Quebec climbed back into first place. The loss snapped Sussex's five game winning streak.

Ottawa blew open a 3-2 game with four runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth to down Nashua 10-4. Rapidz 1B Jabe Bergeron had a big game as he hit a three-run homer and scored three times in the contest. DH Jake Daubert hit a bases clearing double and scored a run while 2B Jose De Los Santos finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Ottawa starter Mike Kusiewicz picked up his third victory by pitching six innings and holding the Pride to three runs. Nashua's Lance Stevens lasted just 4 2/3 innings and dropped to 6-7.

Brockton 9, Atlantic City 6

Brockton mashed their way back from an early 2-0 deficit to top Atlantic City 9-6. The Rox hit four home runs in the game including two by LF Jud Thigpen who drove in four runs on the night. The other long balls came from 1B Eduardo Rios, his fourth of the year, and DH Phillip Cuadrado, his eighth. Cuadrado finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three driven in. Atlantic City SS Anthony Granato and 1B Eddie Kim combined to drive in five runs as they went 3-for-5 and 2-for-5 respectively. Mike Smith started and went six solid innings for Brockton, striking out eight. He improved his record to 2-0 with the win.

New Jersey 6, Worcester 3

New Jersey grabbed an early 4-0 lead and went on to a 6-3 victory at Worcester. SS Bryant Nelson's three-run blast in the top of the third put the Jackals in command and gave starter Ted Serro plenty of cushion to work with. Nelson finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Serro went 6 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs on eight hits. With the win he's now 5-3 with New Jersey. Worcester's Tom Cochran absorbed just his second loss of the year as he allowed four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings and fell to 13-2.
