Time: 2:54 ATT: 1,786 W: Junior Guerrero (4-2) L: Jodie Kennedy (3-6) S: None HR: WOR - Josh Beauregard (4), Chris Colabello (3) Junior Guerrero had a magnificent outing, holding the Grays to a single earned run on six hits over eight innings to lead Worcester to an 8-2 victory. LF Josh Beauregard and DH Chris Colabello each homered in the first as part of a six-run Tornadoes' rally. CF Lucas Taylor was 3-for-4 for the Tornadoes with a pair of stolen bases from the leadoff spot. Chris Shank preserved the lead with a perfect ninth. 2B B.J. Weed doubled and drove in a run for the Grays. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ELMIRA 3, NEW JERSEY 0 @ Elmira, N.Y. Time: 2:21 ATT: 931 W: Brian Ford (1-2) L: Isaac Pavlik (4-5) S: Claudio Galva (6) HR: None RBI singles by LF Ransel Melgarejo and DH Jabe Bergeron keyed a three-run rally in the first by Elmira, paving the way to a 3-0 Pioneers win over New Jersey. Brian Ford held the Jackals to just four hits over eight innings of work, striking out five. Claudio Galva worked a scoreless ninth for the save. SS Chris Rowan had the only multi-hit night for either team, doubling and singling for New Jersey. Isaac Pavlik pitched well in the loss, giving up only one earned run over six innings, striking out six. He picked up his fifth loss of the year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW HAVEN 5, NORTH SHORE 2 @ Lynn, Mass. Time: 2:41 ATT: 1,636 W: Rolando Valles (6-5) L: Jake Mullis (4-4) S: None HR: NS - Andy Howdeshell (4) RBI singles by 1B Bill Peavey and 3B Junior Zamora keyed a four-run, third-inning rally that helped first-place New Haven pull off a 5-2 win over North Shore. Rolando Valles got the win for the Cutters, allowing just one earned run in the complete game gem. Valles surrendered just four hits, striking out seven on the night. Peavey finished 3-for-5 on the night with a pair of RBIs to lead New Haven. 2B Mike Larosa was 3-for-3. 3B Andy Howdeshell homered for the Spirit. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- BROCKTON 6, QUEBEC 5 @ Quebec City, Quebec. Time: 2:39 ATT: 4,148 W: Grant Dorn (4-1) L: Julien Tucker (5-4) S: Joey Cole (11) HR: BRK - Eddie Gerald (2) QUE - Buck McNabb (3) LF Eddie Gerald was 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs to spur division-leading Brockton past Quebec 6-5. Grant Dorn got the win for the Rox, allowing four earned runs on eight hits over seven and two-thirds innings. Joey Cole pitched a scoreless inning and two-thirds for his 11th save. CF Brad Rosenblat was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs for Brockton. 2B Danny Scalabrini had three hits, including a double, for les Capitales.
