Campos Reassigned to Arkansas, Amarista Joins Bees

SALT LAKE CITY (August 25, 2010) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has reassigned infielder Jesus Campos to Double-A Arkansas and promoted infielder Alexi Amarista to Salt Lake from Arkansas.

Campos, 22, has appeared in eight games for the Bees in 2010, registering one double. In six games for the Orem Owlz this season, he posted one double and two RBI, while hitting .230 with one home run and 10 RBI in 17 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The South Gate, Calif. native was originally drafted by the Angels in the 24th round of the 2010 draft.

Amarista, 21, has appeared in 48 games for the Travelers in 2010, hitting .288 with two doubles, one triple, one home run and four stolen bases. He played in two games earlier this season for the Bees, hitting .500 with one double, one triple and one stolen base. In 72 games for Rancho Cucamonga this season, he owns a .303 batting average with 19 doubles, six triples, four home runs, 39 RBI and 17 stolen bases. The Barcelona, Venezuela native signed with the Angels as a free agent in 2007.
